Nonye Ekwomadu
The Ojo and Ipaja zones of the Spiritans Sound Outreach held its inaugural physical meeting in Lagos State, today, 25th of February 2024.The deliberation was a first of its kind as St Joseph’s Catholic Church Ketu-Ijanikin, Ojo, Lagos and SS Joachim and Anne Catholic Church, Meiran, Lagos, individually and separately hosted both zones in a well-coordinated interactive session.
The meetings were anchored by the general and zonal coordinators namely, Messrs Matthew Abifarin, Stephen Imereti, Martin Eichie and Engr. Mrs Lauretta Uwak respectively.
The efforts and achievements of the founder of Spiritans Sound Outreach, Rev Father Oluwafemi Victor Orilua CSSp were applauded while not failing to mention the contributions of members, friends, and well-wishers of the group.
As the meeting progressed, laudable ideas, inspired by visionary minds were rubbed together, birthing achievable goals meant to spur the outreach and propel the organisation towards attaining incredible heights vis-a-vis discovering and developing talents among the younger generation.
This year, among other activities, the outreach will feature workshops and talent shows, aiming to instill confidence in young individuals who may lack the courage or means to express their God-given talents.
It was an exciting moment as members were visibly motivated and enthusiastic. The body looked forward to an improved version of the meeting as the days go by.
Of great significance, the Outreach extends its heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Fr. Modestus Uzoekwe CSSp, the Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Ketu-Ijanikin, and his assistant, Fr. Anthony Okorie CSSp, for their invaluable support in fostering the growth of the outreach within the parish. Also present at the Ojo zonal meeting, Rev. Fr. Thadeus Okafor, along with his assistant, Fr. Patrick Okoro CSSp, pledged their unwavering support for the outreach. Words cannot adequately express our gratitude and admiration for their dedication and assistance.
Above, all everyone is encouraged to join this mission and embrace the value of sacrifice, assisting others in shining. This is the essence of the Outreach.
