The Lowly one called and the Lord heard him

16

Dear friends, our reflection yesterday helps us to reflect on God’s ever dwelling presence in times of Fear. We were reminded that fear robs us of our confidence and understanding of the might of God.

This morning the Psalmist takes us a step further, that in moments of doubts, hopelessness, emptiness, nothingness, pains, agony, just call on God. In times when we are left with confusing situations in our lives, call on God. He has said we should call on him and He will answer us.

The Psalmist this morning reminds us that there is a God who hears the call and cry of his children. In the first reading, Hagar and her child were in a hopeless situation, but she lifted her voice to God and wept and God heard her.

God’s ears are not deaf to hear you, his hands are not short to save you. Have you called him in humility? Some of us make God the last option, after running from pillars to poles with no solution, we then turn to God. God is not the lender of last resort, He is the eternal, main, one and only help.

Dear friends, let us all cultivate the habit of crying to God because he is always ready to hear us when we call on him. As we begin the second half of this year, may God hear our cries for help. May he grant all our heart desires and help us to achieve our plans and purposes for this month and remaining part of this year.

Peace be with you.
