THE HEROIC AKACHUKWU FRANCIS NWABUEZE.
My name is Master Nwabueze Akachukwu Francis. I am 14 yrs old. I am a JSS 3
Student of St Thomas Catholic College, Okokomaiko, Lagos, Nigeria.
In the year 2014, precisely Dec 12th, my kid brother, Nwabueze Clement Chiemere who was three years old back then, fell into the well in our Compound and nobody knew about it not until a woman living upstairs came to notify us about the incident. 1 swung into action as I summoned courage to get into the well, irrespective of my age and the difficulty I encountered trying to pull that stunt. Although the woman insisted I shouldn’t take such as risk as she feared for my safety, I was bent on saving my brother’s life because I could only but imagine what he could be facing deep down the hollow which was anything dry. God helping me, I got him out of the well alive.
When our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Oluwafemi Victor Orilua, CSSp heard about the news, he came visiting with the outreach. His involvement went viral on Facebook and attracted the attention of manufacturers of Indomie Noodles. I was also given a heroic reception by the outreach and met the Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins during his pastoral visit to my parish.
The Spiritans Sound Outreach through God’s grace, was instrumental in broadcasting my tale of bravery in and without my environs.
