The Tale of a Talent from the Cradle
The tale of Omotolani Akintayo is a clear indication that treasures are found in hidden places judging from her current geographical location. Born into the home of Dr Adebayo and Mrs. Susan Akintayo 11 years ago in Lagos, Nigeria, this artistically talented adolescent surprisingly discovered a peculiar knack for drawing and painting at a tender age of 7, giving credence to the biblical saying ” Train up a child in a way he/she should go and when they grow, they will never depart from it.”
With no previous or official training in arts and crafts, Tolani as she is fondly called, saw herself steadily sharpening her artistic prowess through her own personal efforts. She is usually inspired to draw simply by observations and by the beauty nature has to offer.
‘Tolani is drawn to natural objects, humans especially; these are her selling points and areas of fascination which majorly propel her into what she knows how to do best: drawing and painting, most often than not.
Although, she hasn’t participated in any major art events but if being an artist is truly her calling, the sky would be her steppingstone based on her passion for arts. Her advice to youngsters tends towards being studious and committed to worthy goals in life.
