It was truly inspiring to witness the remarkable growth of the Luciano Global Development Initiative as it continues to make significant strides in empowering the younger generation. This esteemed initiative, led by Mrs. Adetuwo – Olaniyi, Adekemi Lucy recently concluded a three-day celebration of International Youth Day with the theme “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development.” The event, which ran from August 29th to 31st, 2024, culminated in a football tournament that marked the launch of the Luciano Global Football Academy. This achievement was in collaboration with the United Nations Information Center (UNIC), Nigeria and the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development.
The summit began with a presentation on Youth-led initiatives at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Hall in Igbogila, Lagos. This was followed by an insightful speech on Youth Innovation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) delivered by Engr. Ayowale Fasheyitan on August 30th, 2024. The grand finale took place on August 31st at the Abesan Youth Centre, Abesan Estate, Ipaja, Lagos, where the football tournament brought the event to an exciting close.
These and many other initiatives have become hallmarks of the Luciano Global Development Initiative over the years, earning it well-deserved global recognition. The impact of such efforts on promoting the cause of youth in our society cannot be overstated. It is crucial that we continue to support and encourage these endeavors, as they play a vital role in shaping a brighter future for the younger generation.
